WINTER BASKETBALL LEAGUE

Winter Basketball League is for youth in McLean County in grades K-8 to develop strong character traits through the discipline of youth basketball. Youth in grades K-8 will have weekly practices with one game per week.

2025/2026 Winter Basketball League game schedules will be accessible here once they're available. Please note that game schedules are subject to change. We encourage all participating basketball families to check this page and the schedules weekly throughout the duration of the program for any updates.

SEASON INFO

Season runs from January 5th, 2026 - February 28th, 2026

Practice days/times will be determined by coaches.

Games will be played on Saturdays.

Note: Starting with the 2025/2026 Youth Basketball League seasons, teammate/coach requests will be allowed for YMCA members only.

REGISTRATION INFO

Registration open dates:

  • Members: June 23rd, 2025
  • Nonmembers: August 4th, 2025

Registration closes January 12th, 2026

Members: $60

Nonmembers: $160

Registration closes (by division) once capacity restrictions are met. Waitlists will be available for each division.

IS THIS LEAGUE RECREATIONAL OR COMPETITIVE?

The YMCA Youth Basketball League is a recreational league dedicated to developing young athletes into strong leaders by fostering character, promoting physical fitness, and encouraging healthy competition through the game of basketball. Striving to create an enjoyable and empowering atmosphere where all participants can thrive and feel a sense of belonging.

This league is not designed for highly competitive groups, such as travel teams.
 

WILL YOU ALLOW TEAM MATE OR COACH REQUESTS?

Teammate and coach requests are available exclusively for YMCA members. The Bloomington-Normal YMCA Sports Department will do our best to accommodate requests based on capacity, however, requests are not guaranteed. Register early for the best chance!

IF CAPACITY IS REACHED, WILL THERE BE A WAITLIST?

Yes, waitlists will be available for each division.  The Bloomington-Normal YMCA will be closing registration based on each division's capacity.

IS FINANCIAL SUPPORT AVAILABLE?

Yes, the YMCA will never deny services due to financial hardship. Thanks to our generous donors, the YMCA is able to provide reduced rates on membership and programs to those who qualify through our Financial Support program.
