School Break Days
COVID19 EMERGENCY SCHOOL-AGED CHILD CARE
During our temporary closure, the Y facility will serve only as an emergency school-aged child care program (K-5) for those working families who desperately need care not to exceed 50 kids. Particularly those working parents on the front lines combating this virus including health care workers, nurses, doctors, EMS professionals, police, and fire. Like all our programs, we’ll turn no child away due to the inability to pay, and your membership fee and Strong Kids contributions help facilitate this service. Like all programming, this too will continue to be re-evaluated based on community needs. Care will be provided at the Bloomington-Normal YMCA between the hours of 7am and 5:30pm. E-mail Sarah Tunall, Director of Youth Development at firstname.lastname@example.org, with questions.
GROWING CONFIDENT AND CARING YOUTH
On most days Unit 5 schools are not scheduled to be in session, the YMCA will host a full day of activities from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM for children ages 5 through 12. Activities will include arts and crafts, structured games, swimming, group games, and free play. Children attending should bring gym shoes, lunch, a swimsuit, and towel. Participants of School Break Days must preregister at the YMCA. There will not be School Break Days on snow days or half days of school; only scheduled full days off.
