Participation in the Y-FI program is FREE with a physician referral and meeting certain income guidelines. The program is made possible by partnering with the United Way of McLean County.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES

  • Improvement of overall health through diet and physical activity
  • Enhanced health literacy and education
  • Improved family dynamics and relations
  • Reduced advanced medical costs
  • Improved self confidence and self worth

PROGRAM INFORMATION

The program is designed based on the latest peer reviewed research on diet and exercise. Program participants and physicians can be comforted to know that each participant will receive individualized attention with an diet and exercise prescription based on best practices and guidelines from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the American Dietetics Association (ADA). YMCA staff are exercise science majors and graduate level dietetics interns. This combination of dietary and exercise expertise enhances program outcomes and results.
