The YMCA offers Personal Wellness Coach services in order to help you achieve your wellness goals. If you are having difficulties setting expectations and achieving those expectations, our trained coaching staff will assist you in delivering results. Our emphasis encourages wellness as a lifestyle in comparison to a short term solution.
Fit Start Cost:$750
Our personal trainer will meet with you 3 times per week for eight weeks to train you in nutrition, strength, cardiovascular and flexibility training. Each session is broken into 15 minute segments that will discuss and document nutrition, flexibility and strength training and cardiovascular training. This program starts and ends with an assessment to show you the changes you can make in a short amount of time with consistent focus and training.
Smart Program Cost:$600
This unique program takes a strength and cardiovascular educational approach to training. The goal is to teach and train concurrently so that you can understand how to manipulate the training variables to develop and maintain programming. In weeks one and two, you and your trainer will meet and train 3 times per week; weeks three and four will meet and train 2 times per week and then ten weeks of 1 meeting and training session to progress and update your program.
Personal Complete Training
1 Session- 60 minutes
Member:$35 Prospective Member:$40
These 60 minute sessions are designed to address all of the physical components of fitness. Our personal trainer will design, document and personalize the workouts to help you reach your goals. Complete Training for Complete Physical Development.
10 Sessions- 60 minutes per session
Members:$325 Prospective Members:$375
1 Session-60 Minutes

Our Personal Wellness Coach
Joe Rodgers; M.S., C.S.C.S
Joe possesses a Master’s Degree in Health/Physical Education with an emphasis in Exercise Physiology from Illinois State University. In addition, Joe is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Joe served as the Director of Strength, Speed and Conditioning for Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York before moving back to Bloomington. As a graduate student, Joe has participated in many research projects related to exercise science; notably the relationship of bone density to other variables in college students.
Joe’s knowledge and understanding of exercise lends itself to helping all types of individuals achieve their wellness goals.
