Become certified to save a life! We have highly trained and certified teachers through the American Red Cross. Adult and Pediatric First Aid/ CPR/ AED certifications prepare participants to help and respond in an emergency. Certification will last for 2 years.

CPR/FIRST AID CLASSES

Classes include all necessary training equipment, manuals, tests, etc.

CPR, AED, First Aid Training Classes ($65):

Learn how to recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and first aid emergencies in the work place or at home! The basic level course is designed for ease of learning and we employ all modes of learning. Whether you are an auditory or kinetic learner we are prepared to help you feel confident in your skills to save and sustain a life!

Certification period: Two years

Class#1 July 21st 10am-6pm
Registration closes: July 17th

Class #2 October 20th 10am-6pm
Registration closes: October 16th

Class #3 November 3rd 10am-6pm
Registration closes: October 31st

CPR, AED, First Aid Review ($55):

No dates at this time.

LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION CLASSES

This comprehensive lifeguard training program (for pools only) includes all aspects of the professional lifeguard including first aid and safety and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. Successful completion of this course will result in Red Cross certification. Participants must be present for all class times to be eligible for certification.  Books and other materials are included in the fee. The course requires a minimum of 4 participants, if there is low enrollment participants will be notified 24 hours in advance.

Prerequisites:

  • Be at least 15 years old on or before the final scheduled session of the course.
  • Swim 300 yards, continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. Candidates may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both, but swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Swim goggles may be used.
  • Tread water for 2 minutes, using only the legs. Candidates should place their hands under the armpits.
  • Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds

Certification is valid for 2 years.

Lifeguard Recertification/Review ($95):

This one day class provides participants with the time and supervision necessary to be recertified as a lifeguard with the American Red Cross. Participants must hold a current Lifeguard certification to take this course.

Water Safety Instructor and Lifeguarding Instructor

All instructor level courses have different prerequisites than their basic level counterpart.

No refund will be given for students that miss a class or fail the prerequisite section.

Water Safety Instructor ($300):

The purpose of this instructor course is to train instructor candidates to teach courses and presentations in the American Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety program including Parent and Child Aquatics, Preschool Aquatics, Learn-to-Swim, Adult Swim, Private Lessons, Water Safety Courses (including Safety Training for Swim Coaches*) and Water Safety Presentations.

Prerequisites

  1. Be at least 16 years old on or before the last day of the Instructor Course  Demonstrate the ability to perform the following swimming skills:
  2. Swim the following strokes consistent with the Stroke Performance Charts, Level 4 (Freestyle, Backstroke, Butterfly, Breast stroke)
  3. Maintain position on back for 1 minute in deep water (floating or sculling)
  4. Tread water for 1 minute

Lifeguard Instructor ($300):

Trains instructor candidates to teach American Red Cross Lifeguarding, Lifeguard Blended Learning, Shallow Water Lifeguarding, Waterpark Skills, CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers, Administering Emergency Oxygen and Bloodborne Pathogens Training. Note: To teach Waterfront Skills, Lifeguarding instructors must possess a basic-level Waterfront Skills certificate. This class is designed for current lifeguards who are interested in teaching lifeguarding! You must be at least 17 years old by the end of the class and have a current lifeguard certification from the American Red Cross.

Learning about the science behind lifeguarding and CPR we are offering this comprehensive course designed to encourage and motivate lifeguards to take their training and certification to the next level.

This course allows for multiple practice teachings and a variety of activities designed to cultivate the instructor candidate. Successful candidates will be certified to teach the core American Red Cross Lifeguarding program as well as additional add on modules should they hold basic level certifications.

Water Safety Today $35 (For parents or caregivers!)

A two hour intensive class led by a member of our experienced and dedicated water safety team at a place where we are committed to safety around water for all ages. Keep the kids safe and expand your knowledge!

Whether you have a back yard pool or are planning to spend every weekend at your community pool with your kids or charges, this class is designed for you to learn to recognize, prevent, and respond to emergencies in or around water.

Certificate of completion issued. No expiration date.
