Bloomington-Normal YMCA Legacy AWARD


The Legacy Award was established in 2015 by the Bloomington-Normal YMCA Board of Directors with the purpose of recognizing and honoring an individual or group in our community who exemplifies the YMCA's four core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility. The purpose of the Legacy Award is to identify and recognize that person in our community who personifies the YMCA's core values and gives back to the community. The Legacy Award is presented at the annual YMCA Legacy Dinner. 


WHEN: Thursday, July 13, 2017 from 6 PM - 9PM

WHERE: The DoubleTree Hotel and Conference Center, Bloomington IL

PRICE: Individual tickets are $200

Featuring Guest Speaker, Ed Rust Jr., Retired State Farm CEO and Chairman of the Board:

Following in the footsteps of his grandfather and father, Edward B. Rust Jr. served as the Chief Executive Officer of State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company from 1985 to September 25, 2015 and Chairman of the Board in recent years. In addition to his continued efforts to improve the functions of State Farm Companies, he is nationally recognized as a leader of business community efforts to improve the quality of education in the United States. A graduate of Illinois Wesleyan, Rust has a Juris Doctor degree and a master’s of business from Southern Methodist University. His education and his deep-rooted experience in the world of business has helped other welcome him into committees, clubs, and boards in the community and beyond. His dedication to the Bloomington-Normal community and beyond is why the YMCA is so thankful to have Ed as the 2017 Legacy Dinner keynote speaker.
