Youth will develop leadership skills through mentoring, conversation and practical experience. LEAD Campers will have the opportunity to be certified in First Aid/CPR and life-guarding. LEAD Campers who complete the certification process and LEAD Camp initial training will be assigned to a day camp location and given the opportunity to be employed as a life guard and/or swim instructor for day campers. LEAD Camp will have the opportunity to have "fun days" throughout the summer with special field trips, college visits, and each LEAD Camper will be assigned a volunteer mentor for the summer.
