LIFEGUARD

American Red Cross Lifeguard Training
This comprehensive lifeguard training program (for pools only) includes all aspects of the professional lifeguard including first aid and safety and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. Successful completion of this course will result in Red Cross certification. Books and other materials are included in the fee.

Prerequisites:

-    Minimum age of 15
-    Must be able to swim 300 yards front crawl and breaststroke
-    Swim 20 yards, surface dive 10 feet to retrieve a brick and return
     to the starting position while holding the brick

American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor
This course will help students developing their understanding of how to use course materials, methods of conducting training sessions and evaluating progress – skills necessary to teach the following classes:

-    Lifeguarding
-    CPR for the Professional Rescuer
-    Oxygen Administration
-    AED   
-    Preventing Disease Transmission
-    Community Water Safety
-    Lifeguard Instructor Aide

Prerequisites:

-    Minimum age of 17
-    Fundamentals of Instructor Training
-    ARC Lifeguard Training Certificate
-    Pass preliminary swimming and written test
-    Must bring pocket mask and Lifeguard manual

$200 participation fee
