Youth Pickup Dodge Ball
Grades 1-6
Offered Winter I & II

Youth Dodge Ball is a growing indoor game and a great way for kids to stay active in the winter months. This fun program is open to the first 20 kids in two age groups: 6-9 and 10-12.Our super-soft “Gator Skin” balls ensure on one gets hurt. They are safe, easy to throw and the kids love them. New teams every night assure that everyone plays and plays fairly. Hurry! This program will fill up quickly.

Youth Tumbling
Ages 5-8 & 6-12
Offered Winter I & II

This program teaches children the basics of floor tumbling concepts while also emphasizing the importance of stretching for strength and conditioning. Somersaults, rolls, round-offs and cartwheels are among the basic skills covered.

Cheerleading Basics
Grades 1-8

This program is an introduction to the fundamentals of cheerleading; motions, jumps, cheers, tumbling and stunts. With each fundamental, all of the correct forms and techniques will be taught from the most basic through advanced as progress is made from session to session. Each session will work toward a “performance day” - either a routine for parents and friends or a performance at a YMCA sporting event. Routines will incorporate group cheer, group dance and a stunt sequence.
Instructor Kristin Kaufman has many years of cheerleading experience teaching and cheering for the following organizations: Tri-Valley Jr. High, Ridgeview High School, Rising Stars Academy All-Stars, Illinois College, Capital Elite All-Stars and the Jacksonville, IL YMCA.

Youth STRENGTH Training
This program is designed for children ages 12-19 interested in strength training to prepare for an upcoming sports season or just to get in shape.

The 12 week sessions will be conducted in small groups with no more than three participants per group. It is results-oriented with participants being evaluated on overall body strength and skill of performing the prescribed movements. Participant evaluations are done at the beginning and end of the 12 week session.

Compound full body movements beneficial for all youth sports and activities are the program focus. Special attention will be given to teaching exercise technique, program design and exercise safety all in a fun setting.

Youth SPORTS Training
This program is designed for children ages 9-16 (some age exceptions) that are interested in sports training to prepare them for an upcoming sports season or to brush up on their individual skill sets.
The program is designed for 4, 6 and 8 week sessions conducted in small groups with no more than three to four participants per group. Special allowances may be made for one-on-one training; the cost being adjusted to reflect the request. The program is results-oriented with participants being evaluated on overall ability in all areas of a particular sport plus skills needed to perform the prescribed movements.
The program will focus on fundamentals beneficial to any player for overall and maximum success in the game. Special attention will be given to teaching exercise technique, program design and exercise safety. Days and times can be adjusted by special request.
