AQUATICS Supervisor: Doug Miller
Swim Lessons Assistant Primary Functions * Greet parents/children in lobby and direct/walk them to pool for swim lessons. * Assist instructors setting up and putting back equipment needed for each class. * Ensure there will be enough seating for parents. * Hand out swim lesson information to parents during the session. * Make/hand-out popcorn in the lobby for the first and last week of the session.
Days/Times Needed * Tuesday & Thursdays 6:00-8:00pm * Saturdays 9:00-11:00 * 7-Week Session
Requirements & Skills Needed * Must be a minimum of 16 years old * Available for entire program session * Good communication skills
CHILDCARE Supervisor: Joe Rodts
School Break Days Volunteer Primary Functions * Work with Y-Pals staff to ensure safety and security of children in program. * Assist Y-Pals staff in leading games, activities and crafts. * Assist Y-Pals staff in communicating with parents regarding behavior and accomplishments of children in the program. * Assist in supervising chilren's behavior while swimming.
Days/Times Needed * Unit 5 scheduled days off school excluding major holidays from 7:00am to 5:30pm. * Availability can be flexible within these hours.
Requirements & Skills Needed * Must be a minimum of 16 years old. * CPR & First Aid preferred. * Experience with cildren preferred.
Young Member's Caring Area Volunteer Primary Functions * Work with staff to ensure safety and security of children in the childcare room. * Assist staff in leading games, activities and crafts. * Assist Y-Pals staff in communicating with parents regarding behavior of the children. * Work with children to develop values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
Days/Times Needed * Monday through Friday 9:00am - 1:00pm & 4:00 - 8:00pm. * Saturdays from 9:00am - 2:00pm * Availability can be flexible within these hours.
Requirements & Skills Needed * Must be a minimum of 16 years old. * CPR & First Aid preferred. * Experience with cildren preferred.
Healthy Kids Day Volunteer Primary Functions * Lead crafts, games, activities or serve food. * Assist any program participants with questions they may have regarding the event.
Days/Times Needed * Saturday of Healthy Kids Day (April). * Times will be determined prior to the event.
Requirements & Skills Needed * Must be a minimum of 16 years old. * Experience with cildren preferred.
Parent's Night Out Volunteer Primary Functions * Work with staff to ensure safety and security of children in program. * Assist staff in leading games, activities and crafts. * Assist staff in communicating with parents regarding behavior of the children. * Assist in supervising chilren's behavior while swimming.
Days/Times Needed * Saturdays that the program is being held from 4:45-10:15pm at the YMCA.
Requirements & Skills Needed * Must be a minimum of 16 years old. * Experience with cildren preferred.
Y-Pals Volunteer Primary Functions * Work with Y-Pals staff to ensure safety and security of children in program. * Assist Y-Pals staff in leading games, activities,crafts and other before and after school functions. * Assist Y-Pals staff in communicating with parents regarding behavior and accomplishments of children in the program. * Help children whith their homework questions and problems.
Days/Times Needed * Monday through Friday 7:00 - 8:00am & 2:00 or 3:00 - 5:30pm * Availability can be flexible within these hours. * Work would be offsite at one of our afterschool sites: o Brigham Elementary o Olympia North (Danvers) o Olympia West (Minier) o St. Mary's Catholic School o Towanda Elementary o Trinity Elementary

Halloween Carnival Volunteer Primary Functions * Lead crafts, games, activites or serve food. * Assist any program participants with questions they may have regarding the event.
Days/Times Needed * Saturday of the Halloween Carnival from 5:30-8:30pm.
Requirements & Skills Needed * Must be a minimum of 16 years old. * Experience with cildren preferred.
YOUTH SPORTS Supervisor: John Anderson
Youth Basketball Assistant-Court Monitor Primary Functions * Greet parents/children in lobby and direct/walk them to gym for baskeball practices. * Ensure there are enough chairs in the gym for parents. * Make sure teams are on the correct courts as scheduled. * Keep people off courts that are reserved for practices. * Supervise use of gym closet, keeping door closed, opening for coaches when necessary. * Keep children on first floor of building, off the track and member areas.
Days/Times Needed * Weeknights 5:00-8:30pm. * December 1 - February 27.
Requirements & Skills Needed * Must be a minimum of 16 years old. * Available for entire program. * Good communication skills.
Youth Basketball Assistant-Greeter/Monitor Primary Functions * Greet parents/children in lobby and direct/walk them to gym for baskeball practices and games. * Ensure there are enough chairs in the gym for parents. * Make/hand-out popcorn in the lobby for first and last weeks. * Set up and take down chairs in gym. * Use dry broom to sweep gym floors between games. * Keep children on first floor of building, off the track and member areas.
Days/Times Needed * Saturdays, 8:00am - 5:00pm. * 8 week season, January 10 - February 28, 2008.
Requirements & Skills Needed * Must be a minimum of 16 years old. * Available for entire program. * Good communication skills.
GENERAL/SPECIAL EVENTS Supervisor: Sandy Zarndt
File Clerk Primary Functions * File membership paperwork.
Days/Times Needed * First Friday of each month. * AM hours.
Requirements & Skills Needed * Must be a minimum of 16 years old. * Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
